TO ENGAGE THE RASCALS OF RHYTHM
OR THE BIG BEAR STOMPERS
The Rascals of Rhythm work regularly at Festivals, Jazz Clubs, Restaurants, etc as a self contained 5 piece unit with the aforementioned musicians. However we can, for small venues reduce to a quartet, usually the two reed players, piano and myself, and occasionally a trio or duo.
Either of our two vocalists can be added to the regular lineup.

The Rascals also have arrangements to work with other vocalists as special guests.
They are Joy Parke, Trixi Field, Cate Cody, and Suzanne Bourner, any of whom can be engaged with the band subject to availability.
The Rascals are also happy to augment their regular line up with guest instrumentalists. They have already recorded with Digby Fairweather, Pete Allen, Micky Cooke, Jim Fryer (a fine American trombonist) and Ben Cummings (the remarkable young trumpet player), usually using the name “The Lains Barn AllStars”.
You can book the Lains Barn All Stars with any of the above guest musicians, or others. Availability and fees would need to be negotiated separately .
Finally after many requests, the “Big Bear Stompers”, a band playing in the San Francisco revivalist style including two trumpets, banjo & brass bass came out of hibernation in November 2004. The band is in fine fettle and receiving many requests to play at clubs and festivals. Both the full band (9 including Judy Eames, vocals) and smaller versions down to a quartet, (very popular for parties , weddings and promotions) can be booked. A new CD, with visiting US trombonist Jim Maihack has recently become available (August 2005)
