 THE PROGRAMME  ABOUT BUDE
New Orleans comes to Cornwall!    Bude is the small and unspoilt seaside town on Cornwall’s beautiful Atlantic Coast that hosts one of Britain’s leading jazz festivals. The Twenty-third Bude Jazz Festival will pack 144 jazz events into the seven days from Saturday 28 August to Friday 3 September 2010.  A single stroller ticket will give you admission to all but two of these events. The River Neet, Bude
Part of Keith Nichols' Harlem Madness - Alan Barnes, James Evans, Malcolm Sked and Ben Cummings You can come and go as you please, using your stroller ticket to visit a wide variety of jazz sessions every lunchtime, afternoon and evening from midday on 28 August to late at night on 3 September.  The music on offer ranges from blues and ragtime to mainstream and bop with an especially rich choice of old-style New Orleans and classic jazz.  Alongside Britain’s finest jazz musicians we will be featuring quality acts from overseas, and many more new young musicians from the international scene
There are fourteen different indoor venues, most within easy walking distance of each other: all are linked by continuous bus services, free of charge to Festival ticket-holders.  These venues include pubs, hotels, small halls and restaurants – comfortable and informal surroundings that help to create Bude Jazz Festival’s friendly and relaxed atmosphere. In addition to good listening facilities, there will be a dedicated dance marquee, offering swing, jive and New Orleans bands from 12.30 pm till 11 at night. There is also a late night jazz club featuring a jam session, courtesy of The Waterfront Centre, whom we are delighted to welcome back as a major venue at the Festival.
