Version 417 (419 for Payroll) of Accountant, which caters for operation under Windows XP, NT, 2000, and Vista* is now available.

(*Testing on Vista is still ongoing; any problems so far detected have been resolved)

For the first time the mouse can be used when running under the above operating systems. Because of major changes that have occurred in this release, version 410 and earlier programs will no longer operate with the new programsm, so customers should make sure that ALL disks, including bespoke programs and special utilities, are returned for upgrade. Upgrades are available on both CD format and 3.5" dloppy disks.

Current telephone support contract holders or users who have purchased an upgrade during 2006 are, of course, entitled to this upgrade free of charge. Otherwise, the cost will be £125 (plus VAT) per module. Anyone paying for this upgrade will receive by return a version of Accountant which can be set up as a DOS application running under Windows XP, NT, 2000, 98, 95 or even 3.11 if desired.

If you wish to take out one of our telephone hot line support contracts at this time, you can take advantage of a special offer. For only £130 (plus VAT) per module, you will receive the upgrade plus 12 months' telephone support. This contract entitles you to unlimited telephone support on your Accountant software, reduced prices for stationery, bespoke programming and training plus free of charge upgrades whilst your contract is in place.

Any upgrade can, as normal, be copied on over the existing programs (after a full backup has been taken). The support line will provide assistance if necessary.

Following requests from various users, we can arrange for the upgrade to be installed for you. For a specially reduced price of £100 (plus travelling expenses plus VAT) your upgrades will be installed for you and new features explained. A member of our staff, or an approved consultant, will visit your offices, install the new programs and check back up procedures to make sure that all data files used are being securely copied. They will also run through new features and answer any questions that arise. The visit will take just a couple of hours. Longer visits, to include more specific training, can be arranged on request.

If you are currently running a version of Accountant prior to version 410, extra in-built conversions may need to be run. Please telephone the support line to discuss this before attempting installation.
